28" SxS matted ventilated rib barrels with red front bead and steel middle bead, with 2 3/4" chambers, marked SKEET 1 & SKEET 2 but actually choked improved cylinder & modified. 30" SxS matted ventilated rib barrels with steel front and middle beads, with 3" chambers, marked MOD & FULL and so choked. Both barrel sets with dovetailed-chopper-lumps, scroll engraved and with double gold ribs at breech and with ribs engraved CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER. 14 1/8"pull from gold-plated single selective trigger to checkered wood butt. 1 1/2" - 2 1/2" drop. No castoff. Fully figured American black walnut stock, with separate factory-braced beavertail forends for each barrel set, steel-capped pistol grip, and factory 21-B checkering and carving. Roundside action with automatic ejectors and manual top tang safety. Extensively scroll and game scene engraved by Arnold Griebel, with deep-chiseled fences, a setter and pointer flushing three pheasants on left, a fox flushing three mallards on right, an eagle attacking a bird on the underside, and a ruffed grouse on the trigger guard---all inlaid in raised carved gold. Weights: 7lbs, 12oz with 28" barrels; 7lbs, 14oz with 30" barrels. In Abercrombie & Fitch leather trunk case and with heavy canvas overcase. With Cody Firearms Records Office information confirming both sets of barrels, pistol grip stock with pad, and 21-B carving, with inspection finished August 14, 1953. Mechanically excellent, retaining 99% blue, the gold inlays crisp and unworn, tight and with excellent bores.
